Overview

Rogue Venture Partners is a Venture Capital Firm that was started in 2010. It is a venture capital firm making pre-seed and seed investments in B2B, SaaS, Enterprise, and B2B2C software companies. In 2019, they launched the Rogue Women’s Fund, which, invests in women-led tech startups across the United States of America.

In addition to sourcing and screening startups, I help conduct strategic research on Limited Partners (LP) to inform the fundraising strategy, as well as, support portfolio companies trying to tackle growth.

Problem

Scaling past the first 100 customers is a common hurdle for early stage startups, which, requires deep customer research to help reach product-market and growth goals.

Product-Market Fit Surveys

I regularly consult with early-stage startups and portfolio companies to help them build out their customer feedback loops. Instead on relying solely on Net Promoter Scores or Customer Satisfaction Surveys, I help founders surface richer insights using Product-Market Fit frameworks created by Sean Ellis. Here are some of the questions in the Product-Market Fit Surveys that users are asked to complete after every major product launch:

  • Product / Market Metric: How would you feel if you could no longer use the product

  • Recommendation: Have you recommended the product to anyone?

  • Referrer: How did you discover the product?

  • Alternatives: What would you likely use as an alternative if the product were no longer available

  • Benefits: What is the primary benefit that you have received from using the product?
